Inconel Pipes, Monel Tubes, Copper Nickel Pipes & Steel Pipe Weight Calculator
Pipe & Tubes Weight Calculator – Get Instant Weight for Steel, Inconel, Monel and Copper-Nickel Tubes
The weight of round pipes and tubes can be determined quickly with the pipe weight calculator of Kalpataru Piping Solutions. This is a tool and a guide and it assists the engineers and buyers to calculate the weight of pipes based on the density of materials and the size of the pipes. To offer precise estimates, we consider four typical alloys, namely, Inconel, Monel, Carbon Steel, Nickel alloy and Copper. The formula of calculation, dimensions and sizes in a tube weight chart are explained below.
How to Use the Steel Pipe Weight Calculator?
The Kalpataru Piping weight calculator is simple and user-friendly. In which you only need to begin by selecting a metal type in the drop-down menu, wherein you may choose between steel, Inconel, Monel, or copper nickel. Then, you need to select a shape of your preference round pipe or tube. At this stage, though, you must type in the number of pieces you would like to compute and their size information. It is able to view all the required dimensions, such as diameter, wall thickness, and length.
You are able to key in the size of the material in millimetres or inches. This time, you only need to write all this information, and see the approximate weight on the page by clicking on the Calculate button, and this will be displayed in kilograms and pounds. You only have to click on the reset button to clear the form and now input new values, in the event that you need to start over or modify it. This easy-to-use weight calculator will assist in organizing materials, transportation expenses and fabrication.
Weight Calculation Formula for Steel Pipes
The unit weight of a round pipe (mass per meter or per foot) is calculated by:
Weight (kg/m) = t × (D – t) × C
D is the outer diameter and t is the wall thickness (millimetres are used in SI units). Constant C transforms the geometry to weight and it is equal to 0.02466 when using metric units. As an illustration a seamless steel pipe with OD = 168.3 mm and wall = 7.11 mm has a weight = 7.11(168.3-7.11)0.02466 = 28.26 kg/m. (In case of imperial units, use C =10.69, the weight/length with inches and pounds) Multiply weight/length by the sum of all lengths of pipes or by the number of pieces to obtain total weight.

Inconel:
Inconel is a category of nickel-chromium superalloys that are meant to be utilized in harsh climates and environments that are highly corrosive. Inconel pipes and tubes are also known to have excellent oxidation resistance and strength, which leads to their broad application in chemical processing, generation of power generation, heat exchangers, and aerospace components. The calculator above will make it easy to determine the weight of an Inconel pipe, to then plan how to proceed with your project.

Monel:
Nickel-copper alloys, also referred to as Monel alloys (such as Monel 400 and Monel K-500): it is characterized by the fact that it have excellent resistance in seawater, alkalis, and acids. They remain strong and hard in very corrosive surroundings. Kalpataru Piping provides Monel pipes and tubes in different sizes and schedules to meet the different requirements. With the help of the weight calculator above, you can now plan how you will be fabricating and transporting it much more easily.

Copper-Nickel (Cu-Ni):
Copper-Nickel alloys(mostly 90/10 Cu-Ni and 70/30 Cu-Ni) are a combination of good anti-corrosion, thermal, and anti-fouling strength. All these are also alloys that are highly ductile and stress-corrosion cracking resistant. Copper-Nickel pipes weigh more (density about 8.9 g/cm 3) than normal steel, however, they perform much better in high performance marine and heat transfer applications. Determine the weight of your Cu-Ni pipe or tube in the weight calculator above.
