  • Mill-certified super duplex pipes, tubes, flanges, fittings, bars and sheets engineered for seawater, sour service and high-pressure applications

At Kalpaturu Piping, we manufacture, stock and export a complete range of super duplex steel products trusted by the world’s most demanding industries. Super duplex stainless steel is a high-alloy, austenitic-ferritic grade with a near 50:50 phase balance that delivers roughly twice the yield strength of standard 300-series stainless steel while resisting pitting, crevice attack and chloride stress corrosion cracking. Our portfolio spans UNS S32750 (Duplex 2507) and UNS S32760 (Zeron 100) in pipes, tubes, flanges, buttweld and forged fittings, round bars, sheets, plates and coil tubes. Every consignment ships with EN 10204 3.1 material test certificates, PMI verification and full mill traceability, so engineers can specify with confidence. With ready stock, tight dimensional tolerances and rapid dispatch across India and overseas, Kalpaturu Piping helps oil & gas, marine, desalination and chemical processing projects avoid downtime. Tell us your grade, size and standard — we will match it precisely and quote fast.

Super Duplex Steel Applications & Industries

The strength and corrosion resistance of super duplex steel make it the material of choice wherever failure is not an option.

Industry

Typical Applications

Oil & Gas

Subsea pipelines, risers, manifolds, sour-service (H₂S) components

Marine & Shipbuilding

Propeller shafts, seawater piping, desalination units

Chemical Processing

Heat exchangers, pressure vessels, sulphuric & phosphoric acid tanks

Desalination

High-pressure RO piping, evaporator tubing

Pulp & Paper

Bleaching equipment, digesters, chip washers

Power Generation

Flue-gas desulphurisation (FGD), condenser tubing

Advantages Over Standard Stainless Steel

  • Approximately double the yield strength of 304/316 stainless — enabling lighter, thinner sections.
  • Superior resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking.
  • Excellent fatigue strength and erosion resistance for high-velocity flow.
  • Cost-effective vs. nickel alloys while approaching their corrosion performance.

Manufacturing, Quality & Traceability

Every super duplex order at Kalpaturu Piping moves through a controlled, documented workflow:

  1. Grade & heat verification against the mill test certificate.
  2. Positive Material Identification (PMI) by handheld spectrometer on incoming material.
  3. Corrosion testing on request — ASTM G48 (pitting) and ASTM A923 (intermetallic phases).
  4. Dimensional and visual inspection to ASME / EN tolerances.
  5. Hydrostatic, UT or ET testing for pressure-critical items.
  6. Final marking, MTC issuance (EN 10204 3.1/3.2) and secure packing for export.

Certifications & Standards We Work To

  • ISO 9001 Quality Management System
  • EN 10204 Type 3.1 / 3.2 Material Test Certificates
  • IBR (Indian Boiler Regulations) approved items
  • NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for sour service
  • Third-party inspection: Lloyd’s, BV, DNV, TÜV, SGS (on request)

FAQ’s About Super Duplex Steel

What type of steel is Super Duplex?

Super Duplex is a high-alloy stainless steel with a dual-phase microstructure consisting of approximately 50% austenite and 50% ferrite. It offers exceptional strength, excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and chloride-induced corrosion, making it ideal for offshore, marine, chemical processing, oil & gas, and desalination applications.

What is the price of Super Duplex steel per kg?

The price of Super Duplex steel per kilogram depends on factors such as the grade (e.g., Super Duplex 2507 or UNS S32750), product form (pipes, fittings, flanges, plates, bars, or fasteners), dimensions, quantity, and current raw material prices. For the latest and most accurate pricing, it is recommended to request a quote from a trusted Super Duplex steel manufacturer or supplier based on your specific requirements.

What is the difference between duplex and super duplex steel?

The main difference is the PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number). Standard duplex such as 2205 has a PREN around 35, while super duplex grades reach 40 or higher thanks to increased chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen. Super duplex therefore offers higher strength and far greater corrosion resistance in seawater and sour environments.

Which grade should I choose — UNS S32750 or UNS S32760?

UNS S32750 (2507) is the most widely used grade and suits offshore platforms and chemical plants. UNS S32760 (Zeron 100) adds tungsten and copper for even greater resistance in highly aggressive media such as sulphuric and phosphoric acid. Share your operating conditions and our team will recommend the right grade.
