What is Hastelloy Alloy C22 Sheet & Plate?
Hastelloy C22, a nickel alloy, is renowned for its exceptional resistance to chloride-induced pitting, stress corrosion, and crevice corrosion cracking. The presence of tungsten and molybdenum in Hastelloy C22 provides robust resistance to reducing media, while its high chromium content grants it resistance to oxidizing media. This combination of properties makes Hastelloy C22 a highly reliable and versatile material for challenging environments.
Nickel steel alloy exhibits remarkable tolerance to a wide array of oxidizing aqueous media, including oxidizing acids containing chlorine ions, nitric acid mixtures, and wet chlorine. ASTM B575 sets the standard for Hastelloy C22 plates, sheets, and strips, crafted from low carbon, nickel-based alloys. Among them is the Haynes Alloy C22 Shim Stock, which incorporates nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, making it a corrosion-resistant metal.
For the Hastelloy C22 Grade Strip Tape specified in ASTM B575, the materials must meet both the appropriate chemical composition and mechanical specifications. These mechanical property specifications, as per the ASTM B575 standard, include parameters such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and Rockwell hardness for the 2.4602 Hastelloy C22 Sheet.
