Hastelloy Pipes & Tubes Supplier and Manufacturer in India

HomeHastelloy Products – Hastelloy Pipes & Tubes

The Hastelloy pipes and tubes are made up of nickel-based alloy material, which comes with features like high strength and corrosion resistance to harsh environments. The Hastelloy Pipes & Tubes are available in seamless or welded types as per the requirement based on the specifications set by different international standards. The Hastelloy alloy is highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion, particularly pitting and crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, and has excellent mechanical strength and a long life. Hastelloy C276 is the most widely specified grade for wet chlorine and mixed acid service, Hastelloy C22 extends resistance further across oxidizing conditions, and Hastelloy B2 is built specifically for hydrochloric acid and other strongly reducing acids. Hastelloy G30 and Hastelloy C-4 round out the range for phosphoric acid service and improved weldability. All the pipes go through strict quality checks and other tests to ensure their quality and resistance to acids.

Hastelloy Grades We Supply

  • Hastelloy C276 (UNS N10276): the most widely specified Hastelloy grade, resists wet chlorine, sulfuric acid and mixed acid environments. Tensile strength approximately 690 MPa, yield strength approximately 283 MPa, elongation 40 percent minimum.
  • Hastelloy C22 (UNS N06022): broader corrosion resistance across oxidizing and reducing conditions, well suited to mixed acid and chloride bearing process streams. Tensile strength approximately 690 MPa minimum, yield strength approximately 320 MPa, elongation 45 percent minimum.
  • Hastelloy B2 (UNS N10665): specified for hydrochloric acid and other strongly reducing, non-oxidizing acid environments. Tensile strength approximately 760 MPa minimum, yield strength approximately 310 MPa, elongation 40 percent minimum.
  • Hastelloy G30 (UNS N06030): chosen for phosphoric acid and mixed acid service with high oxidizing power, particularly where sulfuric and phosphoric acid mixtures are present together.
  • Hastelloy C-4 (UNS N06455): metallurgically similar to C276 with improved thermal stability, which reduces carbide precipitation during welding and heavy fabrication

Testing and Documentation

Every Hastelloy pipe and tube order ships with a mill test certificate to EN 10204 3.1, confirming chemical composition and mechanical properties against ASTM B622 / B619. PMI testing, hydrostatic testing and third-party inspection are available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Hastelloy C276 and C22?

Both resist a wide range of oxidizing and reducing media. C22 offers somewhat broader resistance across oxidizing conditions and is often preferred for mixed acid and chloride bearing streams, while C276 remains the most widely specified all-round grade.

Which Hastelloy grade should I use for hydrochloric acid service?

Hastelloy B2 is specifically designed for hydrochloric acid and other strongly reducing, non-oxidizing acid environments.

What documentation comes with a Hastelloy pipe order?

Every order ships with a mill test certificate to EN 10204 3.1. PMI testing and third-party inspection are available on request.

How does Hastelloy compare to Inconel for corrosion resistance?

Hastelloy’s higher molybdenum content gives it stronger resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in reducing acid environments, while Inconel is generally chosen for high temperature oxidation and creep resistance. The right choice depends on whether the primary threat is acid corrosion or heat.

What sizes and schedules are available?

Hastelloy pipe and tube is available from 1/8 inch to 24 inch NB, in schedules from SCH 5S to SCH 160, seamless and welded.
