Inconel 625 Pipe Fittings

Inconel 625 Pipe Fittings Supplier & Exporter in India – ASTM B366 / ASME SB366

Inconel 625 Pipe Fittings Inconel 625 Pipe Fittings are the high end nickel-chromium-molybdenum buttweld fittings produced under ASTM B366 / ASME SB366 specifications. These fittings are made of UNS N06625 (DIN 2.4856) alloy, which is highly resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, oxidation, and stress-corrosion cracking over a service temperature of -196 o C to 982 o C (cryogenic to 1800 F).

Kalpataru Piping is a major manufacturer, supplier and exporter of Inconel 625 Pipe Fittings of oil and gas, aerospace, chemical processing, marine and nuclear industries with the customer base spread across 80 plus countries. Our Inconel 625 Buttweld Fittings are fabricated in seamless (1/2 -10) and welded (1/2 -48) options and are manufactured without post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) that make it easier to fabricate in the field and shortens project schedules.

Key Benefits of Inconel 625 Pipe Fittings

  • No PWHT Required — Simplified fabrication; fittings can be welded in place without post-weld heat treatment, reducing cost and schedule risk.
  • Superior Corrosion Resistance — Outstanding resistance to seawater, acids, alkalis, and chloride environments due to the Ni-Cr-Mo-Nb matrix.
  • High Temperature Strength — Retains mechanical properties from cryogenic service up to 982 °C (1800 °F).
  • Grade 1 & Grade 2 Available — Grade 1 (annealed) for higher room-temperature strength; Grade 2 (solution annealed) for superior creep resistance above 593 °C.
  • Broad Standard Compliance — Manufactured to ANSI B16.9, B16.28, MSS-SP-43, EN 10253-1, DIN 2605, PED 2014/68/EU.
  • Wide Size Range — Seamless ½” – 10″ / Welded ½” – 48″ covering all project requirements.

Weldability — No Post-Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) Required

Inconel 625 Buttweld Fittings do not require post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) after installation welding — a critical advantage for offshore, subsea, and field-fabricated piping systems.

  •       The Nb (niobium) + Mo (molybdenum) combination stabilises the alloy matrix, preventing sensitisation during welding.
  •       Compatible with matching filler wire: ERNiCrMo-3 (AWS A5.14) — the same composition as the base material, ensuring full corrosion resistance at the weld zone.
  •       No pre-heat required for most applications (except thick-section joints above 25 mm in very cold climates).
  •       Suitable for GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), SMAW, and orbital welding processes.
  •       NACE MR-0175 compliant — approved for sour-service (H₂S) environments without PWHT.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the difference between ASTM B366 Grade 1 and Grade 2?

Grade 1 (annealed) has increased tensile and yield strength at room temperature. Grade 2 (solution annealed) offers better creep and rupture resistance at temperatures above 593 o C, and is therefore favoured in high temperature service.

Is PWHT necessary after welding Inconel 625?

No. Inconel 625 does not need to be subjected to post-weld heat treatment (PWHT). The niobium stabilises the alloy and eliminates sensitisation which enables the use of the fitting directly after weld. This is a significant cost and time savings in offshore and field fabrication.

What are the bending angles of Inconel 625 elbows and bends?

Standard bending angles are 22.5°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°, and 180°. Bend radii available are R = 1D, 2D, 3D, 5D, 7D, and 10D.

Does it approve Inconel 625 usage in sour-service (H 2 S ) applications?

Yes. Inconel 625 is NACE MR-0175 / ISO 15156 compliant and is widely used in sour-service oil and gas environments without any PWHT requirement.

What industries do you most commonly see Inconel 625 pipe fittings?

The major sectors are offshore oil and gas, subsea industry, petrochemical, aerospace, marine, chemical processing, nuclear and pharmaceutical. The combination of strength, resistance to corrosion and ability to weld makes the alloy the material of choice in these challenging industries.

What is the UNS or DIN equivalent of Inconel 625?

The UNS designation is N06625 and the European DIN designation is 2.4856 (EN designation: NiCr22Mo9Nb).
