What Are Alloy Steel P91 Pipes & Tubes?
Alloy Steel P91 and T91 Pipes and Tubes are used in high-pressure, high-temperature, and corrosive industrial. These are the superior Cr-Mo-V, which are 9% Chromium, 1% Molybdenum, and additions of Vanadium, Niobium, Nickel, and Manganese that have extraordinary creep strength, oxidation strength, hardness, and thermal stability. They undergo a specialized heat treatment cycle (normalizing at 1050C, air cooling, and tempering at 760C) to give a long lasting microstructure known as Creep Strength Enhanced Ferritic (CSEF). Our P91/T91 pipes have seamless, welded, and custom-fabricated versions, and they are extensively applied in superheaters, heat exchangers, boilers, steam lines, petrochemical units, refinery heaters, and turbine systems.
Why Industries Prefer P91 & T91 Over Other High-Pressure Materials?
Alloy Steel P91 and T91 provide 2-3 times better tensile and creep strength that allows thinner wall thickness with no loss of safety or performance when compared to conventional grades such as P11 and P22. This is made possible by their improved chromium level that guarantees high oxidation, scaling, and corrosion characteristics in high temperature steam and harsh chemical conditions. There is also great thermal fatigue resistance, predictable weldability (when PWHT is done right) and structural reliability over time in these alloys when used in changing operating conditions. Because of their capability to resist high temperatures and pressure without deformation and softening, P91/T91 are now used in ultra-critical and supercritical power plants, high-pressure boilers, heat exchangers and infrastructure of power generation.

ASTM A335 Alloy Steel High Pressure P91 Pipes
P91 Pipes ASTM A335 Alloy Steel is a specially engineered high pressure and temperature pipe. These steel pipes are ferritic alloy steels which are characterized by high tensile strength, high creep resistance and durability.
ASTM A335 P91 Seamless Pipes
Seamless P91: seamless pipes are manufactured without welds, thus they are the strongest, they can withstand pressure, and they are reliable. They are perfect in application in critical applications as they withstand extreme pressure and temperature.
ASTM A335 P91 Welded Pipes
The welded P91 pipes are made by welding the steel segments together through technology. Although cheap, they are also good in strength and corrosion resistance, and are applied to moderate pressure and temperature applications.
ASTM A335 Chrome-Moly Alloy P91 Pipes

Alloy Steel P91 & T91 High-Pressure Pipe Tube Manufacturing Process
- Raw Material Selection: Raw materials like alloy steel or stainless steel are of high
quality and are selected with care in regard to their strength, longevity and their resistance to high pressure
and temperature. - Tube Formation Extrusion: Raw material is subjected to heating and forced to flow through a
die that would produce a cylindrical tube. - Seamless Process: Such methods as rotary piercing or extrusion should be employed to
guarantee the highest strength and structural integrity. - Heat Treatment: Pipes and tubes are subjected to annealing, normalizing or quenching and
tempering in order to improve their mechanical properties, hardness, and creep resistance. - Welding: In longer welds or detailed designs TIG welding, laser welding or more specialised
methods are used to weld parts and retain their strength. - Surface Treatment: Pickling, passivation and others are processes that eliminate oxides and
impurities to offer a high level of corrosion resistance and smooth surface finish. - Final Inspection & Packaging: All the pipes are subjected to strict quality assessments
to ascertain conformability to the norms and they are then safely packed and stored to be delivered.
